Carl McCulloch and along with Jeff Tucker, set up Best Mates as a charity in 2022 to be a helping hand to people whenever they need it. Carl, having been diagnosed with depression in 2021 and then his wife leaving him 6 months later felt first hand the need to lean on my friends. But they weren't always there and sometimes found it too hard to go to them. And so Best Mates was born.
Since then Best Mates has helped over 100 people, granted nearly £30k and provided over 500 hours of support
