About the event
Jeremy Banning is a military historian and researcher specialising in the First World War.
Jeremy has collaborated on a number of books and have acted as principal researcher for many others as well as BBC television and radio documentaries. He was the founder member of the La Boisselle Study Group which conducted archaeological and historical work on the Somme from 2011-13.
He passionately believes in educating future generations about the First World War and provide a variety of services to schools including talks, workshops and research. Jeremy visits schools as part of the ‘Heritage Schools’ programme provided by Historic England and have worked with the National Trust on their Sanctuary from the Trenches project.
Television credits include the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? (2012 & 2020), BBC Wales series Coming Home (2012, 2014 & 2016). TV research work includes various Time Team Specials, BBC Four’s The Somme: Secret…
