About the event
Lynne is the mother and Holly the sister of Daniel Baird who was only 26 when he was tragically murdered in Birmingham in 2017. The family set up the Daniel Baird Foundation to roll out bleed kits across the country to make them publicly accessible in communities. The kits have been used many times most recently in Bristol where a man’s life was saved using a bleed kit following a stabbing in the city centre. Lynne was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours List 2022 for her tireless work.
Leanne is actively involved in our community, as a volunteer, seeking to reduce knife crime, with educational workshops, bleed kit rollout and training, together with promoting knife amnesty and knife bins. Leanne has raised thousands of pounds through donations and working with the Police and the NHS to bring public access bleed kits into our communities in Bristol.
