About the event
On Wednesday 25th February, we'll be hearing from Maria Kane, Chief Executive of Bristol NHS Group, which runs a number of local hospitals including Southmead, the BRI and Weston General Hospital.
Maria has been a CEO in the NHS since 2007 and is passionate about not only providing healthcare for the local area, but also being part of the local community.
Through this, Maria and the organisations she's led have worked with local sports teams and organisations. For example, when she was CEO of North Middlesex University Hospital, the NHS organisation collaborated with Tottenham Hotspur FC.
Bristol NHS Group is hoping to work more closely with sports clubs locally, including Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and the cricket club foundation, on community health initiatives.
